Faith Formation

Michael Smith
Director of Religious Education

All Faith Formation and the Life meet this weekend-February 25th!

FYI- We have a text messaging service we use for notifications about session cancellations.  This is our best option for communication when we need to get information out in a timely manner to you.  We used the system the weekend of Jan. 6/7 when we cancelled sessions due to water pressure issues from a water main break.  Many did not receive notification.  If you wish to be added to the text message system, please contact Michael Smith in the parish office so he can add you.

Children meet Sunday mornings during the 9am mass.  Children process out of the church with their catechists at the beginning of mass and return during the offertory.

Elementary (grades 1-5) and Middle School (grades 6-8)

Students meet in the parish hall from 10:15-11:15am.

Reminder: All Children are to be dropped off and picked up in the parish hall.  For safety reasons, children will not be dismissed into the parking lot or allowed to walk to the church without a parent.

Interested in becoming more involved?  Contact Michael Smith if you are interested in being a catechist, a substitute, a chaperone, or assisting with special projects/events.  Safe Environment training is required for all volunteers who work with children or youth.

Each month, a different grade will participate in a musical session during their regular scheduled Faith Formation Session.  Information about the role of music in the liturgy will be presented, and we also hope to open the door for youth participation in our Youth Choir and other musical events. We hope that you will be present and encourage your child to participate in these special sessions.  Questions can be directed to Jill Austin, Director of Music at: or 910-366-2634.

The musical training will happen during the regular scheduled FF session, and the designated students will sing a prelude music at the 11:30am Mass that day.  If a young person does not wish to sing before the congregation, it is not mandatory. We will still have the FF session to learn about the ministry of music in the Church.

The schedule will be posted here once available.
