For those of you who might be new to the parish or the Fayetteville area, we are an organization of seniors, 55 and older. We meet monthly, typically the second Tuesday of each month (with the exception of December). We generally meet in the parish hall, but occasionally go on day trips in lieu of our regular meeting. We encourage you to regularly check this site as well as the parish bulletin for updates and information. We are organized as a senior's club through the Cumberland County Parks and Recreation. We participate in activities such as picnics, dances, and organized day trips as well as longer trips and cruises. We also receive a newsletter from Blue Street and Tokay (the two Cumberland County Parks and Recreation Senior Centers). These newsletters are distributed during our meetings. The newsletters provide information on upcoming trips, as well as activities at both centers such as crafts, games, physical fitness, etc. It should be noted that the parish has its own Senior Fitness class on Mondays (1:00pm) and Wednesdays (9:30am) held in the parish hall. Senior Fitness classes are facilitated by Stacy Cashwell, a certified instructor and fellow parishioner.
We finished up our trips in November, although it may have given us some ideas for more trips in the future. We held election of officers in October. Our newly elected officers begin their terms in January (see Officers listed below). Congratulations and thank you to all those who stepped forward! I know they will certainly provide the Seton Seniors with continued friendship, fun and laughter!
Our recent trip to the Singing Christmas Tree at Snyder (Dec. 2nd) was a very different program from last year, but most enjoyable! Afterward we gathered for dinner at the Olive Garden. The annual county-wide Christmas banquet at Ramada/Baymont Inn Suites is scheduled for December 12th at 11:00am. That event ends the year for most seniors in Parks and Recreation. We hope you have a wonderful and blessed holiday and a wonderful new year in 2019! Thank you too for all your support, suggestions and help! We look forward to the new year and more good times!
Our next meeting is January 8, 2019, 10:30am in the parish hall
We are a lively group with a full agenda for a year full of fun! Please join us for fun, laughter and fellowship!
