The Seton Seniors Club was
organized to provide a social outlet for active older adults in our parish, age
55 and above. We meet the second Tuesday of every month at the Parish Hall.
The meeting time is 10:30 a.m. Every other month we also go on a short trip.
We work within the framework of
the Fayetteville and Cumberland Parks and Recreation Department and participate
in their functions, such as picnics, fish fries, and banquets with live
entertainment with lots of door prizes. When we have a regular meeting, we go
out to lunch as a group afterwards. Parks and Recreation provides a van and
driver, who is also our senior coordinator, to take us on our outings. This
year we have visited the Life and Science and History Museums in Raleigh, and
also we did wine tasting at a new winery in Dublin, NC. Fayetteville and
Cumberland Parks and Recreation also offer bus trips and cruises at a very
reasonable price, plus each year there is a Myrtle Beach Christmas Show trip.
We support Parish functions,
such as potlucks, soup night during Lent, and sell religious articles at the
October Bazaar. Spouses under the age of 55 are also welcome to join. We have
a great time every month and would love to have you join us.
