Who are the
Columbiettes? The Columbiettes are
a unified body of Catholic women who work side-by-side with the Knights of
Columbus Councils with which we are affiliated.
We enjoy the challenges and
satisfaction of making a difference. You
can do more for your church, family and your community as a
Columbiette.
Discover activities that involve the entire family, thereby
building spirit from within. Be a
more effective Catholic by actively working toward goals of unity and
understanding. Set
the example through works of charity, devotion and promotion of Catholic
values.
Join others in programs that brighten the lives of the less
fortunate – the sick, the handicapped, the elderly and the young.
Strengthen the community from within. Have
fun – make friends. Join
others in events that bear fruit. We
provide members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service
to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young
people.
How to join
Membership in the Columbiettes is open to young women ranging from the
ages of 17 years and older who are practicing Catholics in union with the
Holy See. A practicing Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of
God and the precepts of the Church. If
you, a friend, or a relative are interested in making new friends, helping
the less fortunate and a willingness to promote a true sense of Christian
values, then our organization is just what they want.
See any Columbiette member and just
express an interest to join and give her your name and phone number.
A member of the membership committee will contact you.
2nd Degree Any First Degree member in good standing is eligible
for membership in the Second Degree. The primary purpose of the Second
Degree is to foster the spirit of patriotism by promoting responsible
citizenship and a love of and loyalty to the Columbiettes' respective
countries through active membership.
Squirettes At present the only Squirette organization in NC is located
in Clemmons. Membership in the Squirettes is for Catholic girls
between the ages of 10 and 17. The Squirettes are sponsored by the
Columbiettes. Squirettes' activities are many, varying from
spiritual to active service for the Church and community. Each circle
elects officer members from their own rank, teaching skills of leadership
and responsibility.
