Scout Sunday is February 5th!
We encourage anyone involved in scouting to wear their uniforms when attending Mass Saturday or Sunday.
If you are interested in participating in scouting, you can learn more on our website: or speak to a scout or leader in uniform!
World Day of the Sick
Pope John Paul II designated February 11, as World Day of the Sick, “A special time of prayer and sharing, of offering one’s suffering for the good of the Church, and of reminding us to see in our sick brother and sister the face of Christ who, by suffering, dying, and rising, achieved the salvation of humankind.”
Who may receive the Sacrament of Anointing?
Any baptized Catholic who is seriously ill due to sickness, injury, or old age may receive the Anointing of the Sick, even though there is no apparent danger of death. The sacrament should be received when the sick person is best able to profit from it, and not be delayed until the person is at the point of death. The elderly who are in a weakened condition are also encouraged by the Church to receive the Sacrament of Anointing, even though no dangerous illness is present. One should also receive it before a serious operation.
In keeping with this special day Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church will celebrate the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick on Saturday, February 11, 2023 during Mass at 10:00 AM. We will host a light luncheon following the Mass. To assist us in planning for food and seating for the luncheon, please sign up on the sheet in the gather space or contact Beth O’Leary, 910-912-9016 or [email protected] by February 6th.
